2 suffer carbon monoxide poisoning in Seattle

SEATTLE —

Two men who were pressure washing a garage suffered carbon monoxide poisoning Tuesday and were expected to be treated inside a hyperbaric chamber, the Seattle Fire Department said.

The incident happened at a high-rise apartment complex at 10301 Greenwood Avenue North, the fire department said. The men, one in his 40s and one in his 20s, were exposed to fumes from the gas-powered pressure washer for about an hour. They began experiencing symptoms of CO poisoning, and walked upstairs and called 911.

Both were walking, alert and stable when firefighters arrived, the fire department said. They were taken to Virginia Mason's Dive Chamber in stable condition.
