POULSBO, Wash. —

Two women were injured Friday night after they were hit by a vehicle in Poulsbo, said a public information officer with the Poulsbo Fire Department.

The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. in the area of Pioneer Way Northwest and Northwest Edgewater Boulevard.

An 18-year-old woman and a 19-year-old woman were walking southbound when they were struck by a vehicle from behind, said Jody Mattson of the Poulsbo Fire Department.

The driver of the vehicle left the scene, and police believe the vehicle involved was a pickup truck.

The 18-year-old woman was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center, and the 19-year-old suffered minor injuries and she was taken to a hospital in Bremerton.

Police are still looking for the driver.
