A teller saw the man give another teller a note demanding the money. The witness told the bank manager, who called 911, according to the police report.

When police arrested a suspect in the parking lot of the Washington Mutual branch, he told officers there was a bomb in his backpack. Police evacuated buildings and closed streets in the area until a robot blew up the backpack.

Bail for the suspect was set at $100,000 during a court appearance on Saturday.
