SEATTLE —

A shooting that occurred early Saturday morning at Citrus Restaurant and Lounge in South Lake Union on Fairview Avenue North has left three men wounded. No other injuries were reported, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to the Seattle PD, officers responded to shots being fired around 1:30 a.m.

Police said a fight broke out inside of the restaurant, and the men were kicked out. The shooting happened right after the men crossed the street and 30 shots were fired.

When officers arrived at the scene, three men had multiple gunshot wounds and the windshields of two cars were damaged by gunshots. The front of the restaurant was also hit.

Richard Abdullah of Citrus’ security told KIRO 7 when the shooting happened, he went outside to see what happened and tried to help the victims.

According to police, when officers tried to help the victims, the crowd interfered and got in the way.

Police said it was unknown if a shooter left in a vehicle or on foot, but a handgun was located away from the scene.

“The suspect could have stepped through here and had a perfect shot,” said Capt. Neil Low of the Seattle PD. “It was really an ambush.”

The victims were taken to Harborview Medical Center, said police. One man sustained wounds to his arms and left leg, a 24-year-old man sustained wounds to his stomach, and a 30-year-old man sustained wounds to his body. All three men have life threatening injuries.

On Saturday evening, detectives went to HMC to check on the three men, but they would still not talk to police.

Low told KIRO 7 that there are security cameras on the building, which could help lead police to the gunman. Police said they may get surveillance footage as early as Monday morning.

Citrus reopened for business on Saturday, but security was much tighter.
