EVERETT, Wash. —
A 3-year-old girl fell from a second-floor window of an apartment Saturday morning in Everett, according to the Snohomish County Fire District 1.
The incident happened at 10:24 a.m. in the 1200 block of 113th Street Southwest.
The girl fell more than 10 feet from the apartment window onto asphalt, according to the fire district.
Crews rushed the girl to Harborview Medical Center as a precaution and her injuries appeared to be minor, according to Leslie Hynes, a public information officer for the Snohomish County Fire District 1.
"The girl was crying loudly when firefighters arrived, because a fall like this has the potential to cause internal injuries that might not be immediately apparent," said Hynes
Hynes also said there was a screen on the window, but the girl pushed against it. The screen could not support the weight of the child.
