4-Year-Old Left In Hot Car

Boy Was Sweating, Pounding On Car Door When Found



AUBURN, Wash. —

A man was in jail Thursday, accused of a leaving his 4-year-old son locked inside a very hot car.

Jeremy Yelland was trapped inside the car for about 45 minutes last Saturday, police said.

Boy Trapped In Hot Car

The boy was sweating and pounding on the car door trying to get out.

"I took my clothes off then I still couldn't get out of the car," Jeremy said.

Jeremy's father, Dan, was shopping at a hobby store and lost track of time, police said. He was charged with reckless endangerment in the second degree.

The temperature outside was 66 degrees, but temperatures in the car rose to more than 100 degrees, police said.
