LEAVENWORTH, Wash. —

Five people were hurt Saturday night after a tree fell on their car on State Route 2, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Troopers said an Audi with five occupants was heading westbound on SR-2 at Milepost 77, west of Leavenworth.

As the vehicle was traveling, a falling tree struck the car.

Crews responded to the scene and took a teen girl to Central Washington Hospital, and a teen boy, man and two women to Cascade Hospital.

Their conditions are unknown at this time.

This is the second incident in the last week where a tree fell on a vehicle on SR-2.

On Friday afternoon, a falling tree struck a vehicle at Milepost 78, killing a Bothell couple and injuring four adults.

Stevens Pass Highway 2 between the Summit and Leavenworth was closed Saturday night due to falling trees, and for crews to reevaluate conditions Sunday morning. A detour is available from Interstate 90 and Highway 97.
