5-Year-Old Critically Burned After Playing With Lighter
LYNNWOOD, Wash. —
A 5-year-old boy who was playing with a lighter suffered life-threatening burns in a fire this week, the Lynnwood Fire Department said on Friday.
The boy was playing with the lighter and fingernail polish remover when the fire started, causing burns over a "significant portion" of his body, the Fire Department said in a news release. The incident happened on Wednesday at an apartment in the 19700 block of 68th Avenue West.
The boy is listed in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, firefighters said.
Lynnwood police and the Lynnwood Fire Marshal's Office are investigating.
