SEATTLE —
"There are people that are shot here," one shaken caller told a 911 dispatcher, saying the victims were both male and female.
"There's been a shooting at the intersection of 21st Avenue East and East Republican," said another 911 caller. "There's a group of guys out here who are kind of freaking out and I'm just relaying the information for them."
"This is for a shooting?" asked a dispatcher of a caller. "We're on the way."
Dispatchers calmly relayed the information to fire crews and medic units, who held back from the scene until it was clear there was no danger.
"We'll stage and wait till you are secure," said a fire dispatcher to a 911 dispatcher.
"It looks like we got two or three more victims," the 911 dispatcher said at one point.
"So how many total do we have?" asked the fire dispatcher.
"Four, so far," the 911 center dispatcher said. "We believe the one who shot himself in the head is the suspect."
The gunman was later determined to be Kyle Huff, who was invited to the party because residents of the home -- who described him as "sketchy" -- thought he might be good entertainment, according to a search warrant.
Huff was one of the first to arrive. He kept to himself, was quiet and polite, and took part in some friendly small talk.
Shortly before 7 a.m., he went to his pickup truck and returned with a shotgun and handgun and killed six people and took his own life.
A search of the apartment Huff shared with his twin brother turned up six baggies of what appear to be marijuana, according to the warrant. Officers also found three rifles. In Huff's truck, police found a rifle, baseball bat and machete.
