SEATTLE —

A man in his 30s was severely injured Saturday evening after he was hit by a vehicle, police said.

 

According to police, the incident happened after 6 p.m. on 5th Avenue North at Broad Street under the monorail tracks.

 

The man was walking southbound at a crosswalk and he was hit by a vehicle traveling westbound on Broad Street.

 

When medics arrived, the man suffered life threatening injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

 

Police said the driver was evaluated at the scene and did not find any signs of alcohol or drug impairtment. The driver was released pending further investigation.

 

KIRO 7 Eyewitness News rushed to the scene and found a smashed windshield of a car.

 

As of late Saturday evening, the man’s condition was unknown

 

An investigation continues.
