SEATTLE —

An Aberdeen man who was beaten and burned last week has died at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Deputies told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News Marlon Lee died at 5:42 p.m. on Monday.

An autopsy will be conducted Tuesday, police said.

Sheriff's deputies in Grays Harbor County last week arrested a man described as a "person of interest" in the beating and burning of an Aberdeen resident this week.

According to a statement issued Friday by the U.S. Marshals Service, Roderick Terry Reed 3rd was picked up Thursday afternoon as part of a roundup of fugitives in southwest Washington.

U.S. Marshal Joe Hawe said Reed was arrested at an address in Aberdeen on a warrant issued by the state Department of Corrections. The underlying assault charge is unrelated to the beating of Marlon Lee early Tuesday morning.

Deputies told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Richard Thompson that Reed is not being cooperative in the investigation into Lee's death.

Surveillance video captured the horrifically burned Lee being dropped off at an Aberdeen Hospital. Lee remained in critical condition in intensive care at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Friday afternoon.

Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott told KXRO Radio in Aberdeen that surveillance video also caught Reed and Lee leaving the Quinault Beach Resort together early Tuesday morning, before Lee was brought to the hospital.
