Accused Dog Killer Sentenced In Everett

EVERETT, Wash. —

Randall Brown, accused of beating and killing his 80-pound German Shepherd with a pipe last summer, was sentenced to 60 days in jail Monday afternoon.

Brown told police the dog, Diesel, had been sleeping on his bed and when he tried to move him Diesel bit him and he became angry.

Neighbors said they heard every yelp as Brown beat Diesel, eventually breaking his back.

Brown apologized for his actions to the courtroom full of animal activists outraged by Diesel's murder killing. "First off I'm sorry for what I did. I definitely didn't intend to have it come this far, I accept full responsibility for my actions and that's all I have to say," Brown said.
