Airlift Northwest Helicopter Crashes On Take Off

KIRO NEWS STAFF

Olympia Fire's Kate McDonald says there were three people on board the helicopter when it crashed. She says a pilot and two nurses were onboard. The FAA tells KIRO there were four people onboard.

McDonald says there is extensive damage to the building. KIRO's Richard Thompson says helicopters usually land on the hospital's roof.

This is the second time an Airlift Northwest helicopter has crashed in two months. A pilot and two nurses were killed when that helicopter crashed into Puget Sound off Edmonds on September 29th.
