Applebee’s Waitress Accused Of Skimming Customer ATM Cards

LAKEWOOD, Wash. —

According to Lakewood police, a server at the Applebee’s restaurant in Town Center is accused of using an electric skimmer to gather information from customers' credit cards and then turning the information over to accomplices.

Police said the woman and her accomplices were using the information to create counterfeits to use for purchasing high-end electronics at local stores.

Surveillance video obtained by police shows two men using the fake credit cards at Wal-Mart.

The skimming took place between Dec. 1 and Jan. 31, police said.

According to police, the woman has been arrested and police are continuing to investigate the identity of the two men caught on camera.

Anyone who used a credit card at the Applebee’s in Town Center is encouraged to check their bank statements for fraudulent activity and if they find any they can report it to the Lakewood police.
