TACOMA, Wash. —

Deputies have made an arrest in a Fircrest hit-and-run crash on Sunday that left a bicyclist hurt, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Kevin McCarty said.

An 18-year-old woman was administratively booked Wednesday night on suspicion of failing to remain at the scene of an injury accident. She was released.

Sandy Johnston, 66, was riding her bicycle at about 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning when neighbors said she was struck by a car that ran a stop sign.

“The driver got out of the vehicle, drug her to the side of the road and moved the bike, then fled the scene,” Detective Ed Troyer with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said.

Johnston was found by a jogger about 10 minutes later, police said. Investigators said debris left at the scene led to a Mercedes-Benz and to the driver.
