SEATTLE —
An extraordinary member of the KIRO 7 Eyewitness News team passed away Monday.
Assignment Manager Bryan Thielke, who started his career at KIRO 7 in 1983, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer after a more than three-year battle.
During his 28-year career, Bryan was a thoughtful force behind what KIRO 7 viewers saw on the air.
"He not only shaped this newsroom in terms of news coverage, but he also was the conscience of the newsroom, setting the tone with his demeanor," said News Director Todd Mokhtari.
It was difficult to describe in words what Bryan meant to the newsroom, so the newsroom decided to do what it does best and tell Bryan's story through video. Heres the link to the story that Bryan got to see before he passed: WATCH IT: KIRO 7 Honors Bryan Thielke, 'Lion Of Newsroom'
