Fire damages Auburn home

AUBURN, Wash. —

A fire damaged an Auburn home early Saturday morning, according to fire officials.

 

Valley Regional Fire Authority and King County Medic- 1 units responded to a garage fire at a home around 8:02 a.m. in the 1900 block of 2nd Street Southeast.

 

When crews arrived, they found a single-story residential structure with heavy smoke and flames that spread quickly through the main structure and into the attic.

 

Firefighters extinguished the flames.

 

Five occupants safely got out of the house and the Red Cross is helping with assistance.

 

Two cats were unable to escape the fire.

 

No injuries were reported.

 

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
