Bail Set For Suspect In Maple Valley Shooting

Bail was set at $1 million for the man accused in a deadly case of domestic violence in Maple Valley.

Wesley Avans, 33, made his first court appearance on Thursday after he allegedly used a hunting rifle to fatally shoot his wife and wound her 16-year-old daughter on Wednesday.

Police said Avans walked away from the condominium where the shooting happened but was found in the neighborhood and surrendered peacefully.

Police said they had no history of responding to the home for domestic violence.
