SEATTLE —
The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks will close to all pedestrian and vessel traffic 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Feb. 7 and 8.
The closures are due to construction repairing erosion along the small lock wall.
Redside Construction, of Port Gamble, Wash., is driving sheet piles adjacent to the wall.
The sheet piles will act as armor, preventing future erosion and creating forms so a special under-water concrete mix can be pumped in, filling the scour.
