Bank Robbery Prompts Lockdown At Spanaway School

SPANAWAY, Wash. —

Elk Plain School of Choice was in lockdown after a nearby bank robbery, reported our partner The News Tribune.

All students are safe and the lockdown was a precautionary measure, Bethel School District spokeswoman Krista Carlson told the newspaper. The lockdown began just before 10 a.m. and was over before 11 a.m.

Someone robbed the Timberland Bank on 224th and Mountain Highway in Spanaway and ran away.

Police have not caught the robber.
