MORTON, Wash. —
The pilot killed in a small plane crash west of Morton Friday night has been identified as 39-year old Shane Sullivan of Bellevue.
According to the FAA, the plane, a Cirrus SR 22 carrying two people, went down around 7:15 p.m. Friday. Lewis County sheriff's deputies said the plane clipped several trees before crashing into the driveway of a house along State Highway 508 west of Morton.
The pilot, Shane Sullivan was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, a 27-year-old woman and business colleague of Sullivan's was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Authorities have not released her name. Saturday night she was listed in serious condition.
Witnesses said the plane was flying low and silent and then they heard a loud boom. The NTSB is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Shane Sullivan was the president of Cascade Risk Placement, an insurance company based in Bellevue.
His wife Heather tells KIRO 7 her husband was an amazing father and leaves behind two daughters, ages 8 and 6.
