BELLINGHAM, Wash. —

Bellingham Police have been “amazed” by the outpouring of support in the search for missing Western Washington University student Dwight Clark and are setting up a volunteer coordination effort, police said.

Several opportunities to volunteer have been set up:

A volunteer briefing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Maritime Heritage Park.

Another briefing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Ellis Street and East Champion Street.

On Friday and Saturday night, police will user their mobile precinct in the 1200 block of Railroad Avenue to conduct interviews and follow leads. Volunteers will be on hand to pass out flyers concerning Clark’s disappearance and to direct people to the mobile precinct if they have any information.

Volunteers who would like to help in any other capacity are asked to call and leave their name and phone number with Sgt. Colin Emmert at 360-778-8666. Police will call people from this list as the need for volunteers develops, police said.
