Blog: Photos Show Dreamliner Outside Of Everett Factory

SEATTLE —

The blog Flightblogger is showing photos taken over the weekend of the Boeing Dreamliner outside of the factory where it is being assembled in Everett.

KIRO 7 Eyewitness News Aviation Reporter Rick Price said Boeing has been keeping the first 787 planes under wraps very carefully, but it appeared that Dreamliner 1 and one of the first test airplanes were moved around outdoors.

"If you look at these pictures, you can notice that the engines are off of Dreamliner 1 again and there is an area of obvious repair on the lower fuselage where it seems modifications were done to the center wing box," Price said.

Boeing officials have announced several delays in the 787 program. The latest schedule puts test flights of the airplane -- touted for its potential to be more fuel-efficient than other large jets -- in the fourth quarter of this year.

Boeing now anticipates delivering a total of 25 of the new airplanes in 2009.
