A body was found behind a restaurant near Everett on Saturday morning, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

At about 6:45 a.m., deputies received a report of a person down in the parking lot of a business in the 1600 block of Center Road.

A woman’s body was found behind the La Palmera Restaurant.

According to officials, a major crimes unit was called to the scene to investigate, and the incident is being treated as a homicide at this time.

The identity of the woman is unknown at this time.

The cause of the death will be determined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.

"While the investigation is still in its earliest stages, we do not have concerns that there is any continuing danger to the public at this time,” said Lt. Rob Palmer of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

The Snohomish Sheriff’s Department is handling the incident, and detectives are currently investigating the scene.
