A structural engineer will examine the roof of a Tacoma supermarket on Friday to see if the store can reopen, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

The Mega Foods store was evacuated on Thursday after water backed up behind a clogged drain, causing part of the roof to collapse.

People ran for the parking lot as ceiling tiles and hundreds of gallons of water crashed down into the store.

"We heard it. People were screaming, like, all freaked out," said Mike Willard, a store employee.

The store was closed overnight.

The manager said he hopes to reopen sometime on Friday.
