SEATTLE, Wash. —
Police said a burglar broke into a Seattle bank late Tuesday night, smashing out a window to make entry and steal an undisclosed amount of cash.
The burglary occurred at the Bank of America on First Avenue South at South Forest Street.
Seattle police responded to a call at 11:30 p.m. and found a smashed window which appeared to be the entry point for the burglar.
Through the broken window, scars could be seen on the wall to the upper right of the bank vault's door as if someone was trying to gain entry, KIRO 7 reporter Rick Price said.
Price said it appeared the burglar was unsuccessful in his attempt to enter the vault.
The burglar is at large and police said they have no description of the suspect.
Officers closed down southbound Interstate 5 at the West Seattle Bridge after discovering money in the street.
It is not known if the money found was connected to the burglary.
