ISSAQUAH —
A car wound up submerged in a retention pond in Issaquah on Wednesday morning, as seen from Chopper 7.

Eastside Fire and Rescue said one of its chief officers was driving behind a vehicle when they noticed it swerving back and forth. The vehicle went directly into a catch pond near Front Street and Sunset Way.
The officer contacted fire rescue, and they were able to get to the elderly male driver and extricate him from the vehicle, Eastside fire said. The man was conscious and alert and was set to be taken to Group Health.
No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the crash, Eastside fire said. It isn't known what caused the crash.
