TACOMA, Wash. —
The young daughter of a Puyallup woman who died in August from swine flu complications has died. Seven-month-old Abbey Flyte died Sunday night at Children's Hospital in Seattle, the King County Medical Examiner confirmed today.
Abbey Flyte was taken to Children's Hospital on Feb. 2 after she stopped breathing. Her father, Kenny Flyte, told the media at the time that when he checked on her in bed that night, the girl wasn't breathing, and milk was coming out of her nose and mouth.
The girl's mother, Katie Flyte, contracted swine flu in the summer when she was six months pregnant with Abbey. While Katie Flyte was in a coma, doctors at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup delivered 2-pound, 14-ounce Abigail Marie. On Aug. 11, Katie Flyte died at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, without seeing her daughter.
In October, Abbey came home from the hospital to her father and 2-year-old brother, Jacob.
