KELLER —

The pilot killed in a helicopter crash on

the Colvillle Indian Reservation was identified Saturday as Randall

Harmon, 44, of Grants Pass, Ore.

Harmon, the only one on board the Kaman K-1200, died on Friday

when the aircraft went down while dropping water on the McGinnis

Flats fire near this town in northeastern Washington.

It was the first wildfire fatality in Washington state this year

-- the third in the Northwest.

Two helitack firefighters in Idaho died while battling a blaze

in the Salmon-Challis National Forest on Tuesday.

Harmon had 20 years of experience, including 9,500 flight hours,

fighting wildfires by helicopter, said Bill Wilburn, a fire

information officer with the state Department of Natural Resources.
