TACOMA, Wash. —
Darcus Allen, 37, has been in jail for three months, but charges were not filed against him until Tuesday and he was arraigned shortly after.
According to probable cause documents, Allen was with Clemmons on Thanksgiving Day when Clemmons "told everyone that he intended to murder police officers."
On the day of the murders, Nov. 29, documents said Allen drove Clemmons past the Parkland Forza coffee shop twice, saw that there were patrol cars parked outside and then parked at a nearby car wash while Clemmons ambushed and killed the officers: Tina Griswold, Mark Renninger, Ronald Owens and Greg Richards.
After the murders, Allen drove to a parking lot near Clemmons’ home and left the truck, documents said. Allen later checked into a Federal Way motel under a false name and was arrested on Dec. 1 on a fugitive warrant out of Arkansas.
According to the documents, Allen and Clemmons met in Arkansas where they both served time in prison. At the time of the murders, Allen was living with Clemmons’ sister in Tacoma.
Although Allen did not have the weapon, Prosecutor Mark Lindquist said he was an accomplice to aggravate murder.
"Maurice told Darcus Allen repeatedly that he planned to kill cops. Driving Clemmons to the murder scene, knowing Clemmons intended to kill police officers. Allen became an accomplice to aggravated murder," Lindquist said.
Allen pleaded not guilty to the charges during his arraignment Tuesday.

There are two possible sentences for aggravated murder: life without the possibility of parole or the death penalty. A decision has not yet been made on whether the prosecutor will seek the death penalty.
Six other people are suspected of helping Clemmons, four men and two women. They were supposed to go on trial in January, but the judge issued a continuance. Their next court date is set for March 4.
Clemmons was killed two days after the shooting by a Seattle police officer.
