Coast Guard Investigating Possible New Clue In Oil Spill



SEATTLE —

Investigators are checking out what could be a new clue in the oil spill that stained miles of Puget Sound waters and beaches, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

A University of Puget Sound professor who lives in Tacoma reportedly saw a burning barge last Wednesday near Maury Island.

The oil spill was first reported early Thursday morning.

Video: Spill Taking Toll On Wildlife

Coast Guard officials said they've gotten other reports about the smoking barge and are investigating.
