Collision Shuts Down Highway 2



SNOHOMISH, Wash. —

A collision between a dump truck and a pickup closed Highway 2 in Snohomish on Thursday morning.

The driver of the pickup was turning left onto Highway 2 at Bickford Avenue when the pickup collided with the dump truck at about 10:15 a.m., troopers said.

The pickup's driver suffered life-threatening injuries, troopers said. The dump truck's driver was not hurt.

Eastbound traffic was detoured from U.S. 2 at Bickford Avenue to 30th Street Southeast, then to state Route 9 and back to U.S. 2. Westbound traffic was diverted at state Route 9 to 20th Street Southeast and back to U.S. 2.
