SEATTLE —

A container full of cattle fell off of a semi-truck Saturday morning on Interstate 90, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The container fell off the truck and flipped on its side around 8:30 a.m. on eastbound I-90 just east at Rainier Avenue (Milepost 3).

The incident blocked the right lane.

According to police, 30 to 40 cows were on board and it is estimated that half are dead.

Troopers and an incident response team arrived at the scene, and crews are working to remove the container.

Police informed KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that the cows were brought in from Hawaii.
