SEATTLE —

A man who killed Seattle Police Officer Nick Davis in 1985 is due to be released from the mentally ill offenders prison unit at Monroe on March tenth.

Corrections officials are planning housing and mental health treatment for Michael Trott to prevent another tragedy.

KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reports that Trott has indicated he plans to move to Vancouver, Washington.

Davis was shot with his own gun in a fight with the transient who walked away from a pancake restaurant without paying a bill for $4.55.
