Police in Pierce County are asking for the public’s help to track down two rare, classic cars that were stolen in Puyallup earlier this week.
Someone broke into a warehouse near the intersection of 162nd Street and Meridian East sometime between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday and took the cars, which are valued at more than $150,000 each, Tacoma/Pierce County CrimeStoppers said. The cars are a 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray two-door hardtop coupe and a dark gray 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS two-door hardtop with black racing stripes.
Police said they are looking for suspects – i.e. more than one – in connection with the thefts, but did not mention just how many people might have been involved.
CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest(s) and charges filed for the person or people in the case.
Anyone with any information is asked to call 253-591-5959. All callers will remain anonymous.
