SEATTLE —

An armed robber is at large after the owner of an Everett shop chased the man with a golf club, the Everett Police Department said.

The man walked into a smoke shop in the 1000 block of North Broadway on January 11 and asked the clerk for a pack of “spicey,” police said. The clerk asked for payment in advance because of the value of the product, and the man pulled out a knife and demanded money. After not getting any money, the man ran out the door and the clerk, who also owns the shop, chased him with a golf club.

Police described the suspect as white and in his 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 170 pounds. He was seen wearing green pants, a green shirt, tennis shoes, a dark jacket and a Husky ski cap that he used to try to hide his face.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 911 or the Everett police tip line at 425-257-8450. Tipsters can also call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
