FEDERAL WAY, Wash. —
A man was shot near Federal Way Saturday night after a King County deputy and a Department of Corrections officer executed an escapee warrant at a house in the 37600 block of 42nd Ave South.
The King County Sheriff’s Office said that after the man with the warrant was taken into custody, a second man emerged from another part of the house and pointed a gun at the officers. The man was then shot multiple times. The man taken into custody had a high priority warrant for escaping from community custody.
The man, in his 30s, was treated at the scene by South King Fire and Rescue and King County Medic One and then flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. His injuries were very critical.
As of late Saturday evening, an investigator told KIRO 7 the man is now in stable condition.
Investigators were able to get a warrant Saturday evening that allowed them to go inside and collect evidence from the home.
