PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. —

A man wanted on multiple warrants was found hiding in an unlikely location in the Summit area of East Pierce County Tuesday afternoon.

Pierce County Sheriff’s Office Det. Ed Troyer said police were searching for a man, who was possibly armed, in the area of 96th and Vicker Road.

K-9 units and a Pierce County chopper were involved in the search.

When the owner of an empty chicken coop reported that its door had been forced open, police responded and the man was flushed out of his hiding place in the 4900 block of East 96th Street with a K-9.

The man was taken into custody and is expected to be booked into the Pierce County Jail on multiple charges, police said.
