SEATTLE —

The man accused in the hit-and-run death of a Seattle bicyclist pleaded not guilty Thursday morning.

Erlin Garcia-Reyes is charged with one count of felony hit and run for causing the death of Michael Wang.

Wang, 44, a photographer at PATH, was killed while riding home from work on July 28, 2011

Investigators, gathering evidence and working on tips from the public, began focusing on Garcia-Reyes in April, police said in announcing his arrest two weeks ago.

Garcia-Reyes, who owns a 2002 silver Chevy Suburban, admitted that he was driving the vehicle when he was in a collision with a bicyclist near Denny Park and that he left the scene without checking on the cyclist, police said.

Garcia-Reyes is being held on $500,000 bail.
