SEATTLE —
A 43-year-old Washougal man was arrested on Thursday, accused of possession, receipt and distribution of child pornography.
In November, a federal agent working uncover online identified a person with the screen name "Kidluver" sharing files of child pornography through peer-to-peer software, a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
The online activity was traced to the man’s home and agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security executed a search warrant there on Feb. 1.
When the search warrant was executed, investigators learned that the man was a pediatric intensive care nurse at Oregon Health & Science University Doernbecher Children's Hospital. He was placed on unpaid administrative leave on Feb. 1 and resigned Feb. 10.
According to hospital records, the man began working at the hospital in July 2002.
Receipt and distribution of material constituting or containing child pornography is punishable by up to 20 years in prison and lifetime supervised release. Possession of child pornography is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and lifetime supervised release.
