A member of the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office that was prolific in helping to capture suspects died Wednesday at the age of 10.
Police dog Gizmo passed away during surgery, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Gizmo had 74 captures to his credit. Most notably, perhaps, was his role in helping to track and capture the man accused of shooting Washington State Patrol Trooper Scott Johnson in the head.
Johnson recovered and is now the sheriff of Pacific County.
