GRANITE FALLS, Washington —

Police in Granite Falls called off the search Tuesday evening for a man who fired off several shots during an argument and then fled into the woods, the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies arrived at about 11:45 a.m. to the 17800 block of Crooked Mile Road, where a 51-year-old man got into an dispute with a woman and her adult son over alleged stolen property, police said. The man fired off several shots and then fled into the woods nearby.

No one was injured in the shooting.

Neighbors were evacuated as police contained the area.

Sheriff's Office K-9 and air support units assisted with the search, but couldn't find the man. He is still at large and is considered armed.
