SEATTLE —

The Seattle Police Department is asking for the public's help to find a man who urinated on a Belltown building earlier this month and attacked a group of passers-by when they confronted him about it.

The incident happened around 11:15 on July 4. A group of people were walking through Belltown near 2nd Avenue and Blanchard Street when they saw the man, who was apparently intoxicated, urinating on their building, police said.

A woman asked the man to stop, but he waved her and the group away and continued urinating, police said. As the group walked by, the man stopped urinating and insulted them.

The man then lunged at the people walking by, shoved three of them and slapped one woman in the face, which left a cut on her neck, police said. Someone in the group tried to get in between the man and the woman, but the man punched that person several times. The two struggled and eventually the man left.

Police described the man as 30-45 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 190 pounds. Duirng the attack, he was seen wearing a Chicago White Sox jersey over a shirt with a picture of Darth Vader. Police also provided a photo of the man.

Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call the Seattle police tip line at 206-233-5000.
