EVERETT, Wash. —

A man angry about having to leave an Everett restaurant at closing time shot into the building, injuring two men inside, Everett Police Department spokesman Robert Goetz said.

The shooting took place around 2 a.m. Monday at Dos Reales restaurant near Broadway and 12th Street in Everett.

Witnesses reported hearing six to seven gunshots in quick succession.

According to Goetz, while the restaurant was closing, three men were unhappy about being told to leave.  At one point, the men had to be escorted out the door by onsite security.

One of the men went to a car parked nearby and retrieved a handgun.   He returned to the front of the restaurant and fired toward the building, striking the victims.

Goetz said both victims were struck in their legs and taken to an area hospital. One of the victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and the other needed surgery. Goetz said one of the victims has been released from the hospital and the other remains in guarded condition.

It was not clear if the victims were targeted or if they were random victims of the suspect’s indiscriminate shooting, said Goetz.

The men fled the scene in a black sedan.  Detectives were able to identify them through witness interviews and surveillance tape and later arrested two Marysville men.

The men, who are brothers ages 26 and 22 years old, were arrested without incident outside their Marysville home in the 9700 block of 59th Drive Northeast on Monday.

Goetz said detectives are interviewing the men and they will eventually be booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

There are no other suspects being sought in the case.
