TACOMA, Wash. —

A Tacoma police officer was attacked by a group of teens who were partying at a park that was closed for the night.

Tacoma officers were called to McKinley Park around midnight for a report of a loud party there after the park was closed, police said.

When officers arrived, they found a group of teens.

When one officer tried to talk to a girl described as the “vocal ringleader,” she turned on the officer and attacked her, police said. Other teens joined in and then fled.

K-9 units were called and one girl was arrested near the park.

Police also tracked down several other teens at their homes and arrested them for investigation of rendering criminal assistance and assault in the third degree.

The girl responsible for the initial attack was not found.

 Police continue to investigate.

The officer was not seriously injured.  Video from the scene showed the officer examining her leg and elbow.
