Woman stabbed on downtown Seattle bus

A Metro Transit passenger used her cell phone to call for help after she was stabbed in the chest Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The bus was downtown at Third Avenue and Stewart Street when the attack happened just before 3 p.m.

A Seattle police officer was nearby and arrested a fellow passenger in connection with the attack as she was trying to get off the bus.

The victim was alert and conscious as she was taken to Harborview Medical Center.
