Des Moines Police Investigating Woman’s Death As Homicide

DES MOINES, Wash. —

Des Moines Police detectives tell KIRO 7 they are conducting a homicide investigation at an apartment complex on 25th Ave. South near South 240th Street.

A woman’s body was found inside one of the units following a 911 call just after midnight Tuesday.

Police say the landlord who lives in the complex reported hearing thumping sounds and the dogs barking more than normal.

When officers arrived they found the apartment door locked, the shades drawn, and the lights on.

Officers looked through a small window on the door and saw the woman on the floor just inside the entry way.

When they entered the apartment they discovered the woman was deceased. Investigators say it was evident she died from homicidal violence.

Police have not released the woman’s identity but say she was approximately 29-years-old and is believed to be the tenant of the apartment.
