SEATTLE —

Seattle police homicide detectives are hoping a sketch will help them find a man responsible for the shooting death of a 43-year-old man during an apparent road rage incident in Seattle’s Roosevelt neighborhood.

According to the Seattle Police Department, the victim, Yancy Noll, was sitting in his vehicle at 7:26 p.m. on Aug. 31 when a car pulled up next to his, and its driver opened fire.

A sketch of the shooter was developed based on information taken from witnesses who saw the gunman fleeing the area.

Detectives said they have also narrowed down the type of car that the gunman was driving to a silver 2002 to 2008 BMW Z4 convertible with a black interior.  Police provided pictures of that type of car with its top both up and down.

Detectives also released an additional detail in the investigation.  Police said the slaying shooter was so enraged at Noll that he pulled up alongside him in the oncoming traffic lanes as Noll was stopped for a red light facing southbound on 15th Avenue Northeast where it intersects with Northeast 75th Street.

The driver then shot at Noll multiple times with a handgun, in the process shooting out his own passenger window.

Noll later died.

The driver of the BMW was last seen speeding away down 15th Avenue Northeast.

Anyone with information about the shooting or who may know the identity or whereabouts of the driver of the BMW or his vehicle is asked to call 911 or the Seattle police homicide Tip Line at 206-233-5000. Anonymous tips are welcome. Anyone who is uncomfortable calling police directly is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- 8477.
