Detectives Search North Bend Site For Green River Evidence

NORTH BEND, Wash. —

The Green River task force is searching a wooded area near North Bend, in the latest search for evidence in the serial killer case.

Task force detectives are working in an area at SE North Bend Way and 294th Place SE.

King County sheriff's detectives have been re-visiting possible dump sites, looking for more remains of Green River killer victims who were slain two decades ago.

Detectives have conducted searches throughout the summer, turning up bones in Snoqualmie, Kent and Enumclaw and even identifying the remains of one victim, Pammy Avent, a 16-year-old who vanished in October 1983.

KIRO 7 Eyewitness News has reported that accused serial killer Gary Leon Ridgway is cooperating with investigators, and that his cooperation has included going with detectives to known murder sites.
