Door nearly ripped off trooper’s car on SR 18

MAPLE VALLEY, Wash. —

The door of a trooper's parked patrol car was nearly ripped off when it was hit by a semi-truck on Highway 18.

 

Julie Judson with the WSP said the trooper was out of the car on Highway 18 between Covington and Maple Valley clearing debris off the road when his car was struck late Thursday morning.

 

Video from Chopper 7 showed the driver’s side door of the patrol car bent forward and nearly ripped off its hinges.

 

Chopper video showed a semi-truck parked on the shoulder.

 

No injuries were reported.
